Work Schedule: This is a part-time, non-benefitted, non-exempt position; up to 29 hours/week; Monday - Friday, hours to be determined. This a temporary appointment ending on or before December 2025, with the possibility for renewal, contingent upon the availability of funds.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Research Associate will be responsible for supporting the work of the project titled, An Assessment of Dual System Data and Practices Capacity across Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare Systems, which includes but is not limited to, coordinating project activities, collecting and analyzing data, report writing and project management. The RA will be supervised and work in close coordination with the PI on the grant

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist with the logistics of meeting planning
  • Archive all project materials
  • Assist in the coordination of tasks/deliverables by project timelines
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for Workgroup meetings
  • Take and disseminate notes from Workgroup meetings
  • Data entry
  • Clean and analyze data using SPSS
  • Preparation of summary reports of results
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Actively participating in a master's program or completion of a master's degree in a relevant field OR relevant experience in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice fields (e.g., lived experience in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems, social work, policymaking or advocacy, or service provision).
  • Proficient use of email, EXCEL, WORD, and SPSS.
  • Familiarity with the juvenile justice and child welfare systems, structure, and processes
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work independently.

DESIRED:

  • Live experience expertise with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems.


The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS.
