Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Consultant with UKG experience who can support our internal payroll function for a remote contract opportunity.

In this role, you will support the payroll function, ensuring pay and payroll taxes are processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. In collaboration with others, you will ensure accurate payroll processing and thorough validation of payroll data for the firm. The ideal candidate will be experienced, well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and possess excellent time management skills.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, including arrears for missed deductions or payments
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Support the internal and external audit processes as required
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures
  • Collaborate with finance on the general ledger for accuracy and any necessary adjustments
  • Reconcile taxes
  • Make adjustments as needed and generate W2Cs, process supplemental payroll runs, and process reversal

Qualifications

  • 2 years or more of progressive experience with US payroll (processing, validation, tax compliance, wage attachments, adjustments, year-end processing, periodic reporting, supplemental payrolls, etc.)
  • Proficiency with payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Wide range of experience with and specialized knowledge of US payroll
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, or related software
  • Proficiency with payroll software
  • UltiPro experience strongly preferred
